I use Laguna fine china porcelain. It is made here in Florida. I usually buy it 4 gallons at a time, or by the case. I have used old oven racks turned upside down on my work tables for draining. The molds need air as they drain upside down. It can take only a few minutes for some parts to thicken on the sides of the interior mold, and then they are ready to pour out. My dolls are only 12-13" tall and some of the parts are so tiny that the interior holes clog up fast and then they won't drain. If that happens use a small cocktail straw to blow air inside of the mold and get it flowing again. It works sometimes... but not always. I'd say on average I waste 1/3rd of the parts I pour here... to climate control problems, cracks in the greenware, sanding breaks and a great number of other mishaps that go wrong from the start to the finished product. What a lot of work!!!!!!
