wigging

Here is just a little info on my wig making techniques. I custom make a skull cap for each doll based on the size of her head and the color her hair will be.  The hair used:  the finest white mohair (from angora goats), human hair, Tibetan lamb's wool, Icelandic sheep's wool, long Chinese silk fibers right from the cocoon and the best synthetics available. My preferred choice is human hair, you can dye it, wash it and style it in a longer cut.  You will see many different hair style here.  It is not possible to use the same kind of hair on each doll. Certain hair styles require different ways of styling and management. Most of my dolls come to you with a fixed wig and are not removable. Later we will offer interchangeable wigs on certain dolls. We have devised a clever way that works wonderfully to secure a wig that is easy for the owner to change out. It is a small strong disc magnet incorporated into the wig cap which is attracted to the steel rod used in the top of each doll heads. The rod is always used as part of our metal/spring assembly method.

Here is one of my dolls in the dolly hair salon getting her first hair cut. I cut it as a blunt cut to arrive at the proper length, then Faith's daughter Melissa ( a professional stylist) cut her hair ends in a wispy style to resemble natural growth at the ends. Melissa also makes most of the tiaras for our dolls. Very talented girl!
